This massive blockbuster is finally on Netflix. I got the chance to watch it. Does RRR live up to the hype what is up flick fans.
So if you guys are here and you like this review let me know down below appreciate you for being here let's get started.
The summary of RRR is a fictitious story about two legendary revolutionaries and their journey away from home before they start fighting for their country in the 1920s. Rise roar revolt essentially follows our two main protagonists from very different backgrounds. They come together strike this very unlikely friendship and get caught up in the midst of a crazy or a series of crazy battles that feature some of the biggest set pieces. Most epic fight scenes you're going to see all year this is a grand spectacle of a movie. It has action musical numbers and you may be saying austin does that fit we'll talk about it but also some really good performances i do have some nitpicks with certain performances. We'll get into that but starting out with our two main protagonists. They are incredible you have beam who is essentially our main character a tribal warrior and protector. His mission is to go after the girl who is taken captured by the british government. But they are the villains of this film and caused a lot of issues for our two protagonists not one because our other in rom who is working for the british government and is trying to essentially move his way up the ranks.
Now they meet each other under extremely unlikely circumstances and like i said before strike this friendship that carries us so far into the film through the action and emotion. There's a lot of emotion in this movie there's a scene at the beginning where this village is attacked. A little girl is clubbed it's essentially uh the raid to take the one that our main character is after. So that scene raised the stakes so far at the beginning and we are experiencing the fallout from that throughout the rest of the movie. Also i do want to say the country of origin here is india and this is a movie that is as over the top and exaggerated as you expect just seeing the trailer it has. Its heart it wears its emotions on its sleeve which i can appreciate. But then we go to a moment at the beginning and we're establishing how this character is right. But they're jumping over this wired fence to go 1v50 take on all these people show their brute strength and abilities. Some may say that's a little over the top it's so unrealistic but at the same time so ridiculously entertaining you can't help yourself but to have a great time watching these massive action scenes, the stunt work, the choreography, the actors that are flying through the air, great wire work throughout this film. You know it had its issues for sure. But the budget is its biggest limitation there regardless they bring it all together in a way that combines a lot right. This is a movie that not only has action adventure you have the musical numbers and these are are the times when the tone shifts sometimes. So drastically that it did occasionally take me out of it.
But i would be lying if i didn't tell you that i was smiling throughout some of these musical numbers especially the one at the end that wraps up the movie in such a beautiful way and recaps.
Your experience with our main characters i'm like this is honestly the perfect way to wrap it up and i was saying that every time we would hit one of those tonal shifts throughout the film. Even though it'll catch you off guard at first you can't help. But to love it now there were times when characters would do things. I'm like come on man just stab him with a knife or there is a moment where two characters are climbing. They are being looked for but no one seems to want to look up and i'm like guys just look up. But it would always be followed up with something so cool or so i've never seen this on screen before. I could overlook some of those issues really my main issue with this film comes down to a couple of the performances. Specifically with our british regime here those that take this young girl essentially. Starting out this big crazy grand mission the accents were just kind of they felt over the top. Someone like allison duty who plays uh one of her main antagonists here she.
There were some issues with her and a couple of the other performances that i couldn't look past in those scenes but it wasn't bad enough to take away from the film. If that makes sense it took away from the moment which was unfortunate. But let's get back to the action here some people will say the slow motion is too much and there was more slow motion than there should have been. But it added so much to a few of these action scenes like the scene where one of our protagonists is jumping out of the crates and there's animals following him surrounding him. He's going after the crowd and the animals while he's trying to get his sister i'm like this is us like i've never seen anything like this.
Then the creativity within some of the action one character on someone else's shoulders. They're running around taking people out doing flips jumping over fences and yes over the top. But i don't care in that moment you are so invested especially in our two main protagonists which again they are spectacular. You are rooting for them you care about them you feel their emotion when you get those emotionally resonant scenes. They stay with you for the rest of the film.
At the end of the day i'm watching this movie from a completely different part of the world. I'm so appreciative of their style and techniques used it's different than anything we see in america and i can really appreciate that and i appreciate you all for your recommendations.
